Springtime on the allotment is a hot bed of possibility. The bleak winter is leaving us behind, making way for all the joys spring has to bring. Here are a few pictures for any fellow green-fingered geeks reading that may like to see our little plot and a few pretty flowers.
Springtime on the Allotment
Following the sage advice of Monty Don, the chilly mornings tidying up over winter and planting a few bulbs mean the beds are ready for planting, the daffodil and tulip bulbs are flowering and those bare trees are now blossoming, what a fabulous time of year!
This weekend we enjoyed a visit from Hazel who got pretty friendly with the resident chicken. We teamed up in potting up some courgette, spinach, cabbage and pom pom dahlia seeds ready to be popped into the greenhouse to germinate before planting into the ground.
What could be better than blue skies, blossom trees, fresh air and flowers? It’s incredible to see the difference in colour from Autumn on the allotment.
