Here are a few official photographs from our joyous autumn wedding at the stunning medieval Manchester Cathedral and Chethams Baronial Hall and a couple of special thanks to those who made our day so very memorable.Two weeks ago Mr T and I tied the ol’ proverbial. On the last night of our honeymoon in Italy we had the joy of receiving the official wedding pictures from our amazing wedding photographer Richard Pickavance. We popped open a bottle of champagne and spent a good few hours cooing and laughing over the hundreds of beautiful photographs.
This post includes just a few of the official wedding photographs as we wanted to say a thank you to all those who made our day so very memorable and share a little peek at the pictures.
I will post a mini wedding series on here so that I can share in more detail behind the scenes antics, wedding dress and dream veil talk as well as some classic wedding dance floor shots, so keep your eyes peeled if you love a bit of wedding action.
We started the day early at the Midland Hotel, Manchester with the arrival of Bethany Jane Davies and the extraordinary gals from the Vintage Beauty Parlour. The bridesmaids gradually arrived and one by one had their hair set and make up done. I had eight bridesmaids, because – well why not? the more the merrier I say. Bethany and the gals worked their magic and were so much fun to have around. One the morning of the wedding I used the gorgeous Jo Malone gifts from my excellent work team at Joanie, nothing like a lovely smelling candle to create a moment of calm.
Shortly after waking up the gorgeous flowers arrived crafted lovingly by our amazing friend Rowan from Northern Flower including my autumnal bouquet, the bridesmaids flowers, button holes and a basket of flowers and headpiece for my niece Celeste our beautiful flower girl.
As soon as the bridesmaids were primped and preened, dressed and ready their ride Benny the cute vintage VW Campervan from the Love Bug wedding car hire arrived driven by Mr T’s brother-in-law James.
Our wedding service was held at the Manchester Cathedral, Mr T’s father Garth was Canon at the Cathedral for many years, Mr T and I now live within the parish so it seemed the perfect place for us to celebrate our wedding. Special thank you to Canon Philip Barratt and the floral team at the Cathedral for their hard work in preparing for our day.
A huge thank you to all our friends and family who pitched in on the run up to our big day and of course to all our lovely guests for making every second so hilarious, easy-going and very memorable.
Following the service the tremendous Blackley Brass Band marched us all over the Chethams Baronial Hall to the sound of ‘Lily the pink’– so much fun.
The marquee was set up outside Chethams for the welcome drinks and a few nibbles, big thank you to Fi and Chips for helping with the marquee and to our hit squad of bridesmaids and pals for coming in the night before to set up.
My mum and bridesmaid Lucy had done a truly spectacular job of sewing bunting and large banners to decorate the marquee. As the brass band sat and played in the marquee everyone got a drink and chatted whilst we ducked off to get some family photos taken. We had candelabra from Tamaryns Treasures in Cheshire and plants that we had lots of fun buying and arranging.
We had a fabulous dessert table thanks to our incredibly talented friend Juliette who made an array of the most delicious vegan friendly, gluten-free divine tasty treats. Thank you to beautiful Juliette who runs the gorgeous Red Kite Boutique Retreat and of course to Glen of Glen’s Yurt Factory who cut the logs for our decorations.
Back in December last year we fell in love with the medieval Chethams Baronial Hall and knew it was where we wanted to hold our wedding reception, the building has such an incredible history, which I’ll go into in more detail in a later post. From start to finish Simon Chaplin the Chethams events organizer was truly brilliant making every step of the planning and organizing a breeze.
Once the family photos had been taken and the welcome drinks finished up we headed inside Chethams Baronial Hall for the epic medieval style buffet created by Kim the Chef and his terrific team. The buffet consisted of vegan, veggie, gluten-free fresh fruits, vegetables and meats and was a spectacular edible landscape. 
Enjoying the buffet and sitting in the medieval Baronial hall we had the joy of listening to the Rondino String Quartet who played classical through to modern day, including Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody (accompanied by the bridesmaids) to Por una Cabeza, the Tango classic that we attempted our first dance to.
The speeches by the best man and best woman were both touching and entertaining AKA smashed it. Thank you Theresa and Matt- you rule.
The stunning wedding cake was made by the lovely Becky from Time for Sweet Pea and was decorated using organic flowers and foliage from Maddocks Farm Organics. We sliced the wedding cake using a basket-hilted sword.
Following the speeches, cake and buffet we had a disco and hog roast which went on into the night. Again, I’ll share more in coming posts but for now I’ll just say a huge thank you to all of those who helped in making our day so incredible, for the very moving gifts, generosity, cards and comments.
I’ll conclude in saying how overwhelming and very touching it has been for us both to have the love and support of such special friends and family and how happy we are to join House Turner and House Macaulay.
