For those on a mission to clean up your home and switch to eco-friendly alternatives, here are a few fabulous plastic-free bathroom essentials for everyday. Living sustainably is of course a process, start with switching one everyday household product and gradually change the way you shop. Opting for eco-friendly alternatives is a healthier option for you, your family and big beautiful Mother Earth!
Plastic-Free Bathroom Essentials
Reusable Makeup Pads: Switch to eco-friendly reusable cotton and bamboo cleansing pads, perfect for removing make up or toner. Tabitha Eve Reusable Cotton & Bamboo Makeup Pads are made from organic cotton and bamboo. You can use and wash, then use again, reducing the waste created by regular cotton wool pads.
Organic Cotton Washcloth: Opt for an organic cotton washcloth for cleansing your face or taking off face masks. the Green Fibres washcloth is made from soft organic cotton terry towelling, which is both undyed and unbleached.
Plastic-Free Deodorant: I’ve been using the Salt Of The Earth Crystal Deodorant for some time now and would recommend you give it a try. The crystal deodorant comes in a cardboard box, you wet it slightly before use, then dry it after use, one crystal will last for several months and is highly effective.
Plastic-Free Toothbrush: Made from sustainable FSC Beechwood and suitable for home compost, the Geoganics plastic-free toothbrush is a simple switch. Plus every tree cut down for production is re-planted and any excess material is used to heat up the factory. Comes packaged in a compostable, plastic-free paper box.
Eco-friendly Electric Toothbrush Head: We both use electric Oral-B toothbrushes and have done for ages. We didn’t want to simply discard our existing brushes, so found these replacement heads that are compostable and made using recycled materials. A good switch if for the future.

Plastic-Free Toothpaste: Georganics Activated Charcoal Toothpaste is plastic-free and natural made from a blend of English Peppermint and Lime essential oils. Peppermint essential oil is extremely effective at killing anaerobic bacteria. A bacteria that causes gum disease.
Plastic-Free Toothpaste Recipe:
You can easily make your own toothpaste too, which I have tried and use the following recipe:
- Glass Jar
- Baking soda
- Organic Coconut Oil
- Organic Essential Oils (I use Peppermint)
- It takes 2 minutes to mix these three ingredients in a glass jar, the toothpaste leaves my mouth feeling so incredibly fresh.
Hopefully your Plastic-Free July is going well and you’ve made a start at switching a couple of items in your home?
Stay fabulous
Christine
