Barge East Gardens is one of the largest outdoor dining and drinking spaces in London. Alongside the gardens sits, a lovingly restored 120 year old Dutch barge that has been converted into an award winning restaurant, offering a unique dining experience. Since launching in 2018, Barge East has become a prominent destination for food and drink in East London. Behind their sensational, seasonal menus are their talented chefs who source the finest quality produce, and handpick homegrown ingredients from the Barge East Gardens for every dish. The edible gardens were planned and designed to offer customers a multi-sensory experience amongst the produce they grow for their menus.
Diners can drink, dine and socialise outdoors surrounded by plants. Built from a range of rustic materials throughout the space, the garden and its scenic East London riverside location features more than 37 types of produce.
Seasonal And Sustainable Dining
Expect a casual vibe with a fresh, seasonal street food menu, ranging from small plates such as delicious homemade hummus with flatbreads and panisses (signature chickpea fries), tasty burger mains which include meat and vegan options all of which can be served with a side of rosemary fries or house slaw. You’ll find British, Vegetarian Friendly, Vegan Options, Gluten Free Options on the menu.
With sustainability at the core, to compliment the restaurant, there’s an urban orchard surrounding the outdoor seating backed by wildlife planting and soft fruits. The ideal spot for those looking for a more conscious dining destination.

Barge East operates seasonal hours, so best to check to discover new opening days and extended hours. The gardens will be reopening seven days a week from May 2023. You can hire the venue for private parties, the floating restaurant takes enquiries for groups of all sizes with flexible hire available Monday to Friday.
