This year sees the historic 100th anniversary of the world famous RHS Chelsea Flower Show. To celebrate the centenary, Anthropologie will be transforming their King’s Road Store in London into a traditional Victorian apothecary with products from Los Angeles based perfumier and beauty brand Royal Apothic >Yelp!<
The RHS Chelsea Flower Show is a five day long garden show commonly known as ‘The Great Spring Show’ the grounds of the Royal Hospital in Chelsea, London are transformed into a floral fantasy. Possibly the most famous garden show in the world the Chelsea Flower Show has attracts visitors from the length and breath of the United Kingdom and infact the world, visitors come from all continents to marvel at the blooming utopia.
Back in the day: The first Royal Horticultural Society Great Spring Show was held as early as 1862! at the RHS garden in Kensington. There were several flower shows throughout London at this time. The first Chelsea Flower Show opened on May 20th 1913 and has been in full bloom ever since. Despite the First World War the show was held 1914–1916, but was cancelled in 1917 and 1918. By the roaring 1920s, the Chelsea Flower Show was back in full swing, the famous Chelsea tea parties were established and Royal visits resumed.
The Fragrance: Royal Apothic has designed a delightful bespoke fragrance for Anthropologie named Antiquarius Petals. The fragrance is inspired by The Great Spring Show and named after the Antiquarius building in which Anthropologie’s Chelsea store stands. The scent is fresh, infused with blackberry, grapefruit, mandarin and tangerine with floral mid notes of jasmine, orange blossom, violet and rose and base notes of patchouli, eucalyptus, sandalwood, exotic musk & vanilla. The new fragrance will be available exclusively at Anthropologie. Cannot wait!
The Pop Up: The gallery at Anthropologie’s King’s Road store will be transformed into a traditional Victorian apothecary filled with Royal Apothic’s full range of sovereign luxuries for the modern home and personage including their famed hand cream said to be a favourite of Victoria Beckham. This will be the brands first ever store and will be packed with fabulous products that draw inspiration from gardens all over the world, in particular, London’s famous parks and squares.
