Why You Should: You’ll spend nothing on commuting with zero travel time, you can be more productive by working whenever you can, and there’s no coworkers or meetings to potentially distract you.
Why You Shouldn’t: While you might start off productive, it’s easy to get distracted while working from home. Too many years working from home and the creeping vines of cabin fever may also take hold, and that’ll make you lonely and possible send you a little stir crazy.
Finding An Office
There will come a time where the home office just doesn’t cut it. Whether that’s because you need to hire employees to help out with the start up business or your workload has taken up more rooms than you have. Finding a larger space, then, may be on the cards.
Why You Should: A larger office space will give you room to breathe and also make you look more professional when meeting with clients. When upscaling your base of operations, find the best movers to bring your favourite furniture over to save you the hassle.
Why You Shouldn’t: Office space costs money, so if your business is still in its infancy it might not be the right move just yet. In the meantime, consider a coworking space to give you some freedom from your house.
Going Global
The beauty of an online business means that – most of the time – you can operate it from anywhere in the world. Being able to travel whenever the need grabs you is part of what draws people to start their own business, and there’s so much of the world to see it would be a shame to miss out.
Why You Should: Relocating to another city or country entirely can invigorate you with a renewed passion for the business, and the chance to explore a new environment isn’t a bad thing either.
Why You Shouldn’t: Sudden changes in your situation could throw you off your game, and issues like homesickness and culture shock can affect productivity and growth. There are also time zones and tax issues to think about in different countries.
Be Holistic
Think about your business base holistically. Does it work for your health and that of your potential team, will the commute time be unbearable? Does the environment reflect your company philosophy and vision? Having a holistic vision will help yo to create a thriving, healthy and profitable start up business…
