Here’s a little self-care Sunday post to share natural skincare for sensitive skin that I’ve been using recently. Green People gifted me a selection of their natural skincare a few weeks ago. Since receiving the lovely package from Green People I’ve been using the face wash and moisturising products every day and wanted to share…
Natural Skincare:
Green People was created by Founder Charlotte Vohtz, after her young daughter was suffering from a variety of skin allergies. Charlotte struggled to find ethically sourced natural beauty products suitable for sensitive skin on the high-street. Faced with the sad reality that most high-street skincare is full of hidden chemicals, Charlotte was determined to create a truly organic skin care.
Not satisfied with just creating her line of truly organic skincare, Charlotte fought to introduce regulations in an industry where you only need 1% of natural ingredients to call your products ‘natural’. She approached the Soil Association, the leading UK organisation for organic certification, to encourage them to form standards for organic health and beauty products.
Organic cosmetics:
In 1999 Charlotte was invited to be on a Soil Association committee to design the first standards for organic beauty. Charlotte, and later Green People’s Cosmetic Scientist Ian Taylor, played a huge role in setting natural and organic cosmetic regulations.
I too have been cleaning up my beauty regime and opting for toxic-free, natural products. Your skin is the largest organ in your body and anything that it absorbs eventually ends up in your blood stream, so it’s very important to check what is in the skincare you are using.
Skin health:
My favourite of the Green People products is the Fruit Scrub Exfoliator, it cleans your skin and leaves it feeling beautifully soft, there’s no irritation and it leaves your skin with a fresh glow. I tend to use the Fruit Scrub Exfoliator at night in the bath, followed by the Hydrating Firming Serum.
The Green People Hydrating Firming Serum is like having a mini face lift, I actually noticed my skin feeling lifted and less puffy. I would highly recommend the Green People products to anyone looking for ethically sourced natural beauty products that are suitable for sensitive skin. Green People also offer a range for babies and children, haircare and makeup, so well worth a look at their website.
‘The biggest organ in your body is your skin, and it’s a permeable membrane. Anything you put on it goes into you. If you can’t pronounce most of the words on the back of the bottle, it’s probably not good for you’ -Philippe Cousteau, Jr.
