This Girl Talks Money
- Tell us a little bit about what you do at This Girl Talks Money?
TGTM is a content channel where I share tips on all things money, from how to save more, spend less and get your relationship with money in better shape. I write blogs and post a lot of social media content, as I find this is the most digestible format for my target audience who are mainly females aged 25 to 35 and who feel confused by all things financial.
What impact do you think our money mindset has on our bank balance?
Mindset is everything when it comes to money. We all have our own money story which is written throughout our childhood, often without us knowing. Our attitudes towards money are influenced by people around us and the attitudes we see and hear when it comes to money and unless we challenge them, we take these into adulthood and they can become damaging, prohibiting us from reaching our potential.
How Can We Cultivate A Positive Money Mindset?
Recognise Your Money Story
Take time to understand your own money story – look at your parents’ attitude to money when you were growing up and look for any limiting beliefs you may have taken on.
Forgive Yourself
Look forward rather than backwards – we all have mistakes we’ve made financially in the past. Forgive yourself for these and instead, look to the future. Create good habits when it comes to money, as these will keep you moving in the right direction, even when it feels tough.
Practice Gratitude
Practice gratitude and avoid comparison. When it comes to money, comparison is everywhere and can be the biggest barrier to improving your money mindset. Gratitude helps us to focus on what we do have and stay focused on improving our own situations.

There are a couple of brilliant books, such as Go Fund Yourself by Alice Tapper and Money: A User’s Guide by Laura Whateley. Both of these break down the basics of money management into simple, accessible content. Plus my blog, of course!
